Empty Periodic Tables

Last night I ate dinner alone

On a periodic table,

Tuning into my elements

As if I’m getting static signal

From an empty satellite cable channel,

Thinking if it matters while feeling

Like an empty blob of matter,

Wondering if I should delete her

Atomic number from my cell

Of electron configurations or

Maintain the chemical bond

That holds our atomic phases,

Our quantum mechanical stages

Leave me in dismay in the

Strangest ways,

Low frequency surrounds my

Atomic radius along with

My coldest days
