Forgiving

I used to not forgive

The lives of those That lied,

The ones that spilled strife

Right before my eyes was kept

In a mental dungeon where

The pain throbbed yet reside,

I thought more as the wind blew,

I thought deep until my face

Grew to the mysterious color blue,

I overthought to the point where my

Shoulders gained excess weight,

As I took time to ponder and wait,

It dunned on me that the only way

To relieve the pain is to forgive

Those that left me astray,

Forgiving the lives that lied

Rebuilt my inner self where

My soul was once fortified
